HTC’s deals this week include $150 off the U Ultra for everybody, $200 off the 10

Last week we told you about a deal over at HTC’s official online store for the US that took $150 off the price of the recently launched U Ultra phablet. At the time, it was only meant for those who are part of the Team HTC promotional membership program. It’s not hard to sign up for that, but starting today you don’t need to. That’s because the deal is now available to everyone, without any promo codes involved. Just go to the store, choose the color for the U Ultra, and pay only $599 for it.

There are deals on other HTC devices too, and all of these are valid through Sunday, April 23. The HTC 10 can be yours for $499 ($200 less than before), the Bolt is now priced at $450 (down from $600), and the One M9 from 2015 can be purchased for $499 (down from $649).

All of the above are unlocked. If you don’t mind buying the Sprint version of the HTC One A9, then you can have one for just $199, which means you’re saving $300 compared to its launch pricing. While these deals are nice, it’s up to you if some of the aforementioned phones are even worth this much at the moment. The U Ultra is new, sure, but the One M9 is two years old now, for example. The HTC 10 does better in the age respect, but its successor‘s launch is imminent.

You can now officially unlock the bootloader for LG G5 SE

LG has added a new name to the list of smartphones for which bootloader unlocking is officially supported. The device in question is the G5 SE, which is basically the Snapdragon 652 variant of the G5.

Specifically, the model number H840, which is for the European market, has been added to the list of supported devices.

For those who aren’t already aware, unlocking a bootloader isn’t a straightforward process, but it’s required if, say, you want to run a custom ROM on your device. An important thing to keep in mind is that once your phone is unlocked, it will no longer be covered under warranty.

LG started allowing bootloader unlocking back in 2015. However, only a handful of the company’s phones are currently supported – for the complete list, head to the Source link below.

Galaxy S8 and S8+ cases and bumpers

ITSKINS unveiled its range of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ cases and bumpers.

The Zero Gel ($25 for a two pack) adds the least amount of bulk, but also the least protection – the slim, transparent case is rated for only 1m falls. Spectrum ($20 for one) is where things get more serious – it’s translucent too, but has thicker air pockets that can absorb the shock from 2m falls.

Spectra ($30) is a flip cover with various finishes, imitating carbon fiber or cloth. Spectra Vision (also $30) keeps the flip transparent so you can see the always on screen. Both are rated for 2m drops.

Then there’s the Spina and the Octane (both are $30). The two go for a more rugged look and their armored shell is noticeably bulkier (though they remain at a 2m drop rating).

The Venum is a metallic bumper (2m drops, $30 price), which features a clear back for those that want to see the color of Galaxy S8 they chose.
